Mzoori

Mzoori was a Kenyan online store. We rebranded and relaunched it as a mobile-first bookshop that’s simple to use and explains itself.

The problem

Help Mzoori sell books online with a mobile-first site that’s easy to use and explains itself.

The goal

The immediate goal was to rebrand and relaunch Mzoori as a start-up that sells books first and then expands into other products and services, the way Amazon started out selling only books.

What I did

  1. Redesigned the website
  2. Stakeholder interviews
  3. User interviews
  4. Personas
  5. Scenarios
  6. Site maps
  7. Information architecture
  8. Competitive research
  9. Wireframes
  10. High-fidelity design
  11. Hand coding in HTML5 and CSS3
  12. A/B tests on calls to action

Results

  • Higher conversion than in previous months.
  • Steady traffic growth after the relaunch.
  • A lower bounce rate and medium average time on site, which suggested people were staying and coming back.
  • Mobile first, so no one was left out.
  • More engagement on social media, and more of it positive.
  • In-page analytics and click tracking showed people could find their way around.
